Does anyone know of a program for generating map boards? I have a copy of ADC2 and that has some limited features for randomising terrain tiles, but what I really want is something a bit more elaborate, something that can create interesting boards with “patterned terrain” ie with linear features like mountain ranges / rivers and fractal coastlines.
I’m sure something like that would be of interest to people who like to create their own vassel games from scratch, but am I asking for the moon here?
You could look at the various map and world generators that are
available for (fantasy) role-playing games like Dungeons and Dragons,
d20 System, etc. Most of those only work on the PC, but there are
also some web-based tools that you may be able to use.
