Misleading Max Heap Warning Message

Vassal v3.5.3 but not v3.4.13:

If I set a module’s JVM Max Heap Size below the (default?) of 512 Mb, I subsequently see the following warning message when the module is opened:

[attachment=0]Max Heap Warning.jpg[/attachment]

Should I be allowed to set JVM Max Heap Size below 512Mb? Either way, this error message seems misleading.
