I think we should remove low-quality scaling as an option. There are some
bugs in the the combination of Sun’s JRE for Windows and certain video
drivers (I don’t know where the bugs lie, exactly) which cause this problem,
and I suspect that most of the time users will just conclude that it’s our
fault and give up, rather than engaging in a several-days-long discussion
with a developer in order to determine what the problem is.
Low-quality scaling produces crap results anyway, even when it does work.
