Scroll Wheel tilt no function in Vassal?

Am I missing a setting somewhere to make my tilt wheel make the horizontal scroll bar move? The normal up/down works fine. The side to side of my scroll wheel works fine in web pages and documents so I know it’s not my mouse.

I think we all pretty much have had side to side built into our mouse wheels for like 20 years now, maybe more. So, is it that Vassal just doesn’t know how to recognize a side move of the wheel or am I missing a setting somewhere? It would seem really odd that it wouldn’t be supported. Afterall mouse wheels like this have been standard probably before Vassal was even born.

You clearly don’t realize just how old the Swing GUI that VASSAL uses is; I’m pretty sure that it is, in fact, significantly older than mice with side-scrolling wheels!

We just need to wait for VASSAL 4, which will built on a much more modern UI.

(In fact, I just did a bit of research: Swing was released in 1997, while the first popular mouse with any sort of scroll wheel [never mind side-scrolling!] was released just one year earlier.)

IIRC, scroll + one of the modifier keys (CTRL?) will scroll side-to-side.
