Running Windows XP and I get the same problem when trying on another machine with Windows 7.
Streets of Stalingrad scen 1 - 3 is the module.
Downloaded and then opened up module in library, and as suggested in the game module I changed the max heap size to 1024. Closed it out, and closed out vassal. Started Vassal again, attempted to start module and it says max heap size to big and will reduce to 128. Then after a minute or two another window pops up and says run out of memory. This happens on both machines and I can’t even get into the module to attempt to change it.
I see several of these threads go unanswered. Perhaps I have placed this in the wrong spot. But if anyone knows how I can get back into the game mod to change it back to default settings I’d appreciate it.
I have 2 gig of ram on my mother board, running windows 7. So it’s either settings on my computer perhaps, or is it just a messed up vassal mod that needs attention by creator?
Again I was able to open up the mod initially, went into preferences and changed max heap size to 1024 and now I can’t even open the mod to change it back. I’ve tried deleting the mod and downloading it again, but apparently the Vassal engine isn’t fooled.

I’m surprised that loading the buildfile takes more than 128MB of heap.
Is it really the case that you can’t open the Preferences dialog right
after loading the module?
If not, one way you can fix this is by editing the Preferences file
in your VASSAL directory. (The Preferences file is a ZIP file
containing one entry for each module.)
