The "step through logfile button"

I would like to put in a request to enhance the “step button” (hereby the SB).

As is the SB takes you one step forwards in a logfile when you click it.
For those of us playing by mail, making anywhere from 50-1000 clicks per logfile can become a really…really… boring thing (messes up my fingers too! ).

So is it possible to either add another button that does like 1 step per (user inserted time) ,
example :
User config : Auto SB time interval (in seconds) : 2
User then activates the Auto SB after loading a logfile, it would go 1 step every 2 second.

OR (and this is perhaps easier). Make the current SB so that you can select it (like you can now, when you click it) and enable the user to hold down space (or whatever key) and it will step through the file faster. While still alllowing a user to single step (by not holding the key down)

Can this be done?

How about we assign the ‘Page Down’ key to the SB, then you could press and hold the ‘Page Down’ key and the auto-repeat on your keyboard will power through your logfiles at the speed of light?

That would be great!
No more 15 min of stepping to see what happens in the logfile!

BUT, how/when would this be released

EDIT : is it in the beta7 as well? im pressing and holding page down for dear life, it does nothing

It can be changed on a module-by-module basis.

Hold your mouse over the step key without clicking until the tooltext pops up. On the module I am using at the moment it says:

Step forward through logfile [PAGE_DOWN]

What does it say between the on your module?

a depressing [null] . Now in Norwegian that would mean 0

but the module is from the UK, so im guessing [null] = nothing = no hot key?

I’ll lodge a complaint with the module creator then (or just do a quick edit myself)

EDIT : opened the module for editing, and found it under global properties. it was empty… ah so much frustration is gone with the wind
