I’ve uploaded 3.1.0-svn4550 to the usual place, and would like to release
it as 3.1.0-beta6. I believe I’ve merged all outstanding changes except
the fix for Bug 2265820 (command loops).
Please give this a try and report back on any regressions from beta5 which
you spot. Hopefully this will be the penultimate 3.1.0 beta.
I’ve uploaded 3.1.0-svn4562 as another beta6 candidate. This version
incorporates a fix of Brent’s for a hard-to-reproduce bug (2176712),
and a fix for an image-loading problem in svn4550.
Please have a look at svn4562 and report back, as I’d like not to
postpone beta6 any longer than necessary.
I can’t replicate this, on either Linux or Windows XP.
I built a test module with the image you posted, which I’m attaching here.
Would you try this and check whether it happens for you with the test module?

Yes, I get the problem with your test module. I did a bit more testing and
it only happens when using a recently installed JRE 1.6.0_10.
Have checked the release notes for 1.6.0_10 and I find:
and to turn it off:
Turning off the new pipeline fixes the problem. I haven’t updated my Video drivers for a while, I’ll try that and see what happens…
Updating my Video Drivers to the very latest supplied by nVidia has not fixed the problem. The only workaround for me with this JRE is to disable the pipeline. I can do this via the debugger, but standard users will run into problems.
Easy solution is to just turn it off for everyone.
If we can confirm that it actually works for anyone and has some advantage, then we could add a preference global preference to turn it back on, but I doubt it is worth the effort.
Should be fine at 4390. I have no problems with this here. I do have 4449
installed as well but don’t run it for other reasons. If you want it give a
shout
I have a hunch that 4358 will work for you, but 4359 will not. I don’t still
have builds for the two of them, but if it turns out to be very hard for
you to test these two, I can recreate them (on Monday).
