Unable to connect to server error

I’m getting the following error when I try to connect to look for an online game:

  • Axis and Allies version 1.0
  • Unable to establish connection to server: Connection timed out: connect

Here’s my system info. – any suggestions? Might be due to firewall but I’m not sure how to change since it’s corporate.

-Model: Dell Latitude e6410

  • Operating System: XP SP3
  • CPU: Intel M540 2.53GHz
  • Memory: 3.24 GB RAM
  • Vassal version: 3.1.15
  • Java version: 1.6.0_22
  • Vassal module name and version: Axis and Allies 1.0

It may be your firewall. I just tried to connect with A&A and I had no problem.

I believe the default port used for Vassal is 5050. You’ll probably have to set up port forwarding on your router for that port number.
