Up Front Problem with Solitaire/Hotseat

I have attempted to run Up Front with Vassal 3.0.17 and 3.2.11. I have far more memory available than what the game requires. I have not been able to do a solitaire or hot seat session. Also, possibly related to this issue is that the only Personality cards I have been able to access are the German ones. (I have not attempted online, as I have the joys of dial-up). Will some one please let me know what I am doing wrong, or how to fix the problem. Thanks!

Both of those versions are quite out of date. Try the current version,
which is 3.2.16.

Please see my previous post. I installed Vassal 3.2.16 and installed a new copy of the Up Front module, and same problem. Only German personality cards, cannot do hot seat or solitaire. If some one could let me know what else I should try, and what the procedure is for solitaire and hot seat, in case I am missing something. Thanks!

If I click the button labeled “Parts”, I see a drop down menu with
eight different nationalities, ~40 cards per. Are those the personality
cards?

The modules provides some instructions under the Help menu.

In general, hot seat play involves choosing a side and then resigning that
side when you’re done with your turn. This will bring up a prompt for the
next player to choose a side.

For solitaire play, choose “Solitaire Player” from the list of sides.
