VASSAL getting slow since upgrading to latest iOS

Recently upgraded my mac with the latest iOS, from Yosemite to El Capitan, version 10.11.1.

Since then several modules that ran really well are getting very very slow, example TiTE 2.10.

Anyone else got that? Any suggestions to who I could improve things? Nothing has changed on the computer

There’s a known problem with some versions of Java on Macs. What version
of Java are you using?

J.

Java 8, the latest version.

Several modules are now hideous to play with.

I read around a bit and found something down the line that from very soon onwards, iOS x won’t support Java anymore from certain Verizon onwards or something like that.

Will these issues be somehow incorporated into a coming vassal module update?

You should try Java 6 instead.

Yes, we won’t be using Java from VASSAL 4 onward.

Great, thanks for the speedy responses

Yes - I went back to Java 6 after installing El Capitan - smooth scrolling and runs quickly enough.

I’m intrigued by the news VASSAL 4 will not use Java. Looking forward to this.
