I have been updating the Vassal module for 1812 Napoleon’s Fateful March (https://vassalengine.org/wiki/Module:1812:_Napoleon%27s_Fateful_March) and one of the user’s is experiencing a strange error. You can see the original thread below, but basically, he and his opponent appear to be logged in on the same account, and both players are always on the same side.
I have tried rewriting the set-up files by deleting all login details, but the problem persists. Does anyone have an idea what is going on here and how it can be fixed?
Leaving aside the fact that users do not “log into VASSAL” nor do they “log into modules”, I’m willing to bet very, very heavily that the user in the BGG thread has a blank module password. That could easily have come from skipping past the initial set name and password dialog one gets when opening a module for the very first time, and they might not remember doing so. A quick check of a saved game file from their game can easily confirm it.
