Vassal V3.1.4 Problems

I have windows XP, and am trying to run Vassal V3.1.4

Whenever I try to start it up it says
“The registry refers to a nonexistant Java Runtime Environment installation or the runtime is corrupted. The system cannot find the file specified.”

Any recommendations as what to do about this?

Reinstalling Java is almost never the solution to problems with VASSAL.
This is one of those rare instances where reinstalling Java is the
solution, however.

(Also, you might want to upgrade to VASSAL 3.1.6.)
