.wav Player possible?

Is there a way to make a tab that you can use to play certain .wav files as well as turn them back off? Basically a small music player type feature.

Thanks

Anyone able to help?

I can make it to where you push a hotkey it plays but I’m unsure what I would need to do to make it turn off and then back on, on command. I personally think it has something to do with a numeric DP but just not sure what the steps involved would be.

I’ve been away for a long time now and was wanting to touch up some of my mods as well as get back into playing a few, is this still a feature that isn’t currently available?

Also, I love the new site, everything is looking great, keep it up guys!

If you want it, you should add it to the tracker.

Forgive my ignorance but when you add it to the tracker what does that do?

Also, last time I was on I remember seeing that you had added it to the feature requests for me. I know it’s been along time now so I don’t plan on anyone remembering that…lol. I had to search just to find this thread again.

Thanks

It ensures that we have a record of someone asking for it, in a place
where someone looking for features to implement will find it.

Can you find that thread for me?

Here ya go, https://forum.vassalengine.org/t/wav-player-possible/2450/1

I don’t know what happened but it’s the only post in this same thread from what I gather.

I thought I would find a link to an item in the tracker there. It must
never have been added. Please add it.

While looking before I submitted anything I found that there will be .mp3player support in 3.2.0. Instead of the need for the .wav player option I will gladly wait for this feature as for me personally it would be more useful (and I’m sure for others as well).

Thank you for all the help uckelman. If after 3.2.0 is released and the mp3 player support doesn’t do what I’m hoping for then I will gladly submit for the .wav option.

You guys are top notch here!

Thanks again

I think that MP3 support is not what you’re wanting. All this amounts to
is adding MP3 support to everything which already plays sounds. I thought
what you wanted was something which could give you fine-grained control
over playing sounds.

I was mainly looking for something that would play some .wav files I had that were specific to certain games, “background noise” if you will, to set the mood of the game. If I’m wanting this then would I still need to request the .wav player feature? I’m kinda mixed up here and trying to get my head back in the swing of things with vassal creation again.

Yes, that’s correct.

Ok Thank you, I’ll enter it then.
