Can you overlap mapboards?

OSX-10.8.2
Vassal-3.2.2

I am beginning work on a module whose map I have in eight scans. I thought that I could create a map board for each scan and then stack them together in 4 columns and 2 rows a la PanzerBlitz. I discover that while this mostly works each scan slightly overlaps the adjacent ones but the map boards are butt joints. Consequently the tiled maps do not present a seamless transition form one to the next.

Is there a way to specify an amount of overlap to use when mating boards or is this something that must be done to the underlying scanned image?

You need to adjust the underlying image, using your favorite image
processing tool.
If you don’t have a favorite, there are some suggestions for free programs
in the FAQ:
vassalengine.org/wiki/Faq_mo … ailable.3F
Along with any number of commercial offerings like Photoshop, Illustrator,
Corel, etc.
