I accidently created a piece that was meant to be in an existing deck. No problem, says I, I’ll just move it down to the Deck, and put in all the card properties. Unfortunately, it doesnt appear in the deck in the game (but is there in the backend). I’ve tried everything- removing it from the module file altogether then re-creating it as a card, I’ve refreshed Decks, pieces, anything I can think of. I even added it back in as a piece (which works) then moving back into the deck but it stubbonly will not show up on my map whenever it is in the Deck. Any advice?
If you are adding a new card to an existing setup file, then you’ll need to add that card somehow to the game file and re-saved it.
Further info if this is on the right track for you… New pieces do not automatically appear in existing games, nor does Refresh Counters add them, though it has a Global Hotkey feature that can help trigger your automation to do the job.
Thanks for this - I am finding that the pre-defined setup I was using would not show the piece, and if I saved that setup and then loaded it back as a savegame file, I still wasnt getting the piece. However, if I create a new game, the card appears in the correct deck. I just have to re-do the setup. Thanks for you help!
Maybe this post could be the jumping off point for something to sticky in Module Design and/or Documentation. It seems to come up frequently both here and on Discord, and lately there’s been flurry of users hitting this obstacle. That’s an indication of a concept that new users aren’t grokking for whatever reason. Maybe sticky posts aren’t even the best way, but it’s pretty common for a user to want to make some limited edit to a module they use and this is comfortably the most common reason it will seem like their attempt hasn’t worked.
