I roll the dice (dice image in button), but only the person rolling the dice can see the result (other than the text).
Does this have to do with the way I created the scenario as solo player…?
I think you may have answered your own question…
Try adding an and see what that position can see…
How can I create a scenario ahead of time so that both players can see each others die rolls? Also, sometimes I can flip a counter but my opponent can’t and I have to flip it for him???
When creating modules or scenarios within sets of games… always be sure to create an “side”. And always make any edits to a scenario from the position. You still may want to preserve side-specific features (like visibility, ability to reveal, etc.) for the players of the opposing sides… but the can see (but usually not take action with) the game elements in play.
For games which rely on a lot of hidden movement and hidden elements, you might consider setting up a side as well… sort of like an observer, but perhaps with “authority” to move pieces, make changes, change visibility, etc.
Observer mode is there by default–it requires no action by a module creator to be present.
I will try using the Observer mode when creating scenarios and see how this works out.
Thanks
I tried using the Observer mode for creating a scenario, but unfortunately you can’t select any items (ie cards and counters…)
They must have the Restrict Access trait on them. It’s fine to build a scenario while occupying named player sides, but the crucial bit is that you must change sides and enter observer mode before you save the file–otherwise whatever player side you occupy at the moment of the save will be unavailable for selection when others load this scenario from the module (it’ll be locked to your personal module password).
So basically what I’ve done is create a scenario using Solo and then once I was done I retired to Observer side to save it. Hope it works.
Do report the results, please. I have a feeling this might be an oft-referred to question, and if we can solve it definitively, so much the better!
