I have a map with 105 moveable areas (and some others that are for dice and components), I tried to create a map using Irregular grid, but if I enable snap to grid everything becomes stacked. If I disable snap to grid then I have to create a lot of points with the same name (the areas are very irregular) and even then some pieces report the wrong area. Before I take on the task of creating 105 named zones, is it too much? What can I expect to happen?
As far as I know, there is no limit to the number of zones you can put on a map.
Also, have you looked into manipulating the “Does Not Stack” trait for pieces and the “Disable Stacking” option in map properties?
Personally, I only use an irregular grid is I simply want to have a point to send a piece to. Zones will give you far more control as far as reporting and piece manipulation. Plus, you can give zones their own Global Properties.
Hi Nostromo, I found another post by you talking about lots of zones in TBK. I couldn’t downloaded it (broken link) but by the screenshot it has lots of zones (you said each hexagon is a zone). I think that using zones will work the best for me.
