Question about resizing cards quickly

This isn’t directly related to VASSAL, but ancillary to something I’m trying to do. I’m making a Hammer of Thor adaptation, and its a game with a lot of information on cards. I’ve uploaded them all, but I’m experimenting with sizing them. Too big means it occupies a lot of real estate on the screen, too small and you can’t read the writing on them. Once I find a good size though, I’m going to need to resize about 1,000 separate images, and that will take forever if I do it by hand.

Does anyone know of a good way to mass-resize a huge number of image files for something like this?

There are plenty of free online tools that can resize a group of images especially gif and png. You might have to do them in batches but it can be done.

Use ImageMagick.

If you are using Vassal, it is possible to re-size images within a module. You may find my post here of interest.
