reducing size of module

Hi guys. For the life of me I can not figure out how to reduce the size of my module other than rebuilding it from start. I have tried to go by the instructions in the Designer’s Guide. I decompress the original module, delete large map files from the image folder and then compress the resulting files with Winrar. I always get the error message - “Invalid Vassal module”. My os is Windows 10.
Any tips or suggestions?

Thanks

You’re likely not getting the module directory structure right. What’s
in the root directory of one of your non-functioning module files?

J.

A folder called ‘images’.
A file called ‘buildfile’ and a file called ‘moduledata’.

The module works fine. It’s just too big because of all the extra image files I used when creating the module. I have several large map files that need to go.

look in the image directory and remove any images you are no longer using…

I have removed all the images that I no longer need. The problem is trying to get it back into a workable vmod file. When I compress the new smaller files with my Winrar program it will no longer work.

Ok. I got it! With your advice Tim, I removed the over sized files and then loaded the game and then saved it under another name. That seems to have solved my problem. Thank you!
