Snap to Grid

I’m sure there is a way to stop counters automatically centering in a hex but cannot find it…

I want to be able to freely move counters on a rectangular grid without them snaping to the centre of the grid, can anybody help please?

In the Does Not Stack trait - turn on the option ignore grid when moving

Thanks Tim.

That works.

Is there a way to do it that still allows pieces to stack?

When you define the grid itself (in the map window), I think there’s a check box that says ‘Snap to Grid.’ Or I believe you can select the box that says ‘Grid Lines are Valid locations’.

I just looked and didn’t see this.

But it would be a good feature to add.

Well, on option would be to not include a rectangular grid at all in
the module. Then there wouldn’t be any thing to snap too. This will
stop all counters from automatically centering.

Now if you want some to snap and others not to, then you have to
follow Tim Mccarron’s advice. But you lose stacking.

Thanks for the input.

I’ve solved my particular problem. I took the map back into Photoshop and overlaid it with the grid that I wanted. Then, when I set it back up as the Main Map I didn’t place a hex-grid overlay on it. Now my pieces have no ‘grid’ to snap to (but still the map has grid lines) and they can stack… voila. Thanks.
