I am updating a jpg file for a map used in a module. I opened the map in a graphics program, made my changes, and saved it with the same filename. I then copied it into the module archive graphics folder, overwriting the original.
In the past when I have done this and opened the module it automatically displayed the modified graphic correctly. But now, for some reason, it continues to display the old graphic. I have confirmed that the old graphic is nowhere to be found in archive. Only the new one is there with the correct filename. And it does this whether I open the module for play, or open it in the editor.
I’m sure it’s something simple that I’m overlooking. Thanks. Curt
You may need the tile cache regenerated.
How do I do that?
Update: OK, I found the clear cache button and clicked it. Re-opened the module and it seems to be working now. Thanks much for the help.
One should always increment, at least, the module’s patch version when making such changes. If you do that, then the Vassal Module Manager will know that it needs to regenerate the tile cache. In that way, neither you nor your users will have the same problem.
So that everyone knows:
- Right click (
Mouse-2) the module in the Module Manager, and select Clear Tile Cache from the pop-up menu.
Please remember to mark the issue as done by selecting the post that solved the problem as the solution (can be your own). That really help others find the solution to their problem. Only you as OP can do that.
Yours,
Christian
