Thanks for the directory listing of prefs. What that shows us is that the prefs directory and the V_Global file have the correct file permissions.
Next we need to see the contents of the V_Global file.
I have tried to use the command line given above but, I don’t seem to get any joy…

The ls command is for listing directories. It doesn’t print file contents.
You can print files to your terminal using cat, or open the file with any text editor of your choice.
E.g.:
cat “/Users/bobtrantin/Library/Application Support/VASSAL/prefs/V_Global”

Joel, it looks like you somehow got “smart” quotes in that line; the correct line would be

is broken. I’m not sure it’s causing your problem, though.
If you reinstall 3.7.5, do your modules disappear from the Module Manager?
